Fred Segal Man in Santa Monica kindly invited us to occupy their installation space through the end of the year. Join us August 12th for the official opening of the Jack Spade Rec Room.

I didn’t catch his name, but thank you to the gentleman pictured for creating this van. Some cars you want to run your fingers against. A Porsche and Jaguar have beautifully controlled curves. But, this is a van that embraces chaos theory. I can’t imagine this van on the freeway.

We arrived at Northlandz 15 minutes before closing time. The front doors were locked.

We walked back to the parking lot, which still held a handful of cars. Someone must still be inside. Lenard suggested we wait by the exit, which had no outside handle. A dad opened the door for his son. We walked in.

Bruce Williams Zaccagnino began building the worlds’ largest model railroad 35 years ago.

He admonished us wearing a safari hat. We didn’t have enough time to experience what took an adulthood to create. But, if we could run, literally run, through the exhibit he’d give us a pass. We ran.

He called through the intercom, “Boys, where are you?” Lights dimmed as we passed each section. We reached the end.
