Paris I love you but you’re bringing me down…  I’m so addicted to you… just when I think that you’re old hat and washed up you suprise  me with something new…I keep trying to leave you … I want to leave you but I just can’t…. not now… now that I’ve discovered there’s a waterfall in Bois de Boulogne I didn’t know about… damn it…

Ami Sioux‘ new book “PARIS 48° 49° N 2° 29E ”  is like a very personal love letter to Paris. Anybody that lives or has lived in this city will know what I mean. Having invited both friends and strangers to participate in this project, Ami collected a unique series of hand drawn maps signalling Parisians most special most favourite places then used the maps to find the locations and photograph them… sometimes absurd, sometimes romantic, sometimes dirty but all SO Paris. It’s a very sincere and poetic reportage of  Paris, no guide book comes close. I’m in love with this book, a big thanks to Ami for reminding me why I’m in love with this town.
